Professional development is a key aspect in ensuring you and your team can achieve the work goals that have been set. As a club manager, your role is to facilitate access to personal and professional development opportunities that align with team member goals, plans and activities.

​

Professional development is something you will do every day of your life without even thinking about it; however, being conscious of the development you undertake will allow you to record this and develop it, in a systematic way. And helping those around you do the same is a cornerstone of good management and leadership.

During the webinar, we will look at the areas of focus in considering the different professional development areas, align these to yourself and your team members, as individuals, and outline the steps involved in bringing together professional development plans. Specifically, we will cover:

•    Professional Competency - Professional competence is the foundation for development needs – the areas that need to be undertaken within the various roles that add value to your club.
•    Knowing Yourself - When identifying, evaluating, selecting and using developmental opportunities to enhance professional competence, it is important to choose them in consideration of the individual.
•    Professional Development Plans - like all such action plans, should be designed to help you bring about change, and specifically, improve the readiness of you and your team in undertaking the tasks, duties and roles that make your club efficient and effective.
